"The Answer to it All" was written close to the end of recording of our CD. We felt we needed another upbeat song. I had always wanted to write a song that sounded like Jimmy Buffett's "Only Time Will Tell". Dayna summed up our philosophy not to take life to seriously and enjoy life's simple pleasures.

"Tropical Depression" is the blending of two poems written by our friend Lynn Witherspoon.  Lynn wrote the poems while she was serving time in a Jamaican prison for trying to smuggle marijauana out of the country. Her mother gave me the poems while she was still in prison and asked if I'd write a song with them.

"Stir It Up" has been a crowd favorite in our live shows.  Thanks Bob Marley!

On our first CD we wrote a song for Dayna and Adam's  eldest daughter Jordan.  This time it was their youngest's turn.  Anyone who knows Sasha knows she is truly a "Run-Around Girl."

We grew up going to the North Carolina Coast. Those who have spent time along these shores know that beach music is as synonymous with North and South Carolina as Surf music is with the West Coast. "I Love Beach Music" is the quintessential Beach Music Song. To me it is one of the songs I have to hear if I go on a beach vacation, so sit back and enjoy it or better yet, find a partner and shag along.

"Seasons Change" grew out of a trip to Killington in the end of March. I was talking to the guys in the ski shop; they were telling me when the season ended they packed up and headed for the coast to work in surf shops and hang by the beach. The summer version of their wintertime ski bum profession. What a great life!

We wanted to write an instrumental with a world groove. We feel this is the most unique song on the CD

One of the first words I ever said as a child was"Tones", short for the Rolling Stones which I would listen to for hours while I rode my rocking horse. I really wanted to include a "Tones" song.

We were playing a show in Ocracoke, NC (picture left) and a girl named Rachel danced to almost every song. The next day I saw her on the island and I call out, "Rachel", but she didn't respond. I finally caught up to her and she turned around and said "hi". I asked her why she didn't respond and she told me her real name was Lisa. Rachel was her drinking name. As I told friends this story I found out that a lot of girls have drinking names. A song was born!

"Shameless Hawkin' Song" came out of a show we were playing a few years back. The gig was going great till the manager came up to me with a scoul on his face and asked me why I had not thanked the sponsors yet. I told him no one had informed me of that duty. He responded, "The sponsors are who pay you, if you don't thank them you won't get paid. After being a little pissed, my anger turned to precociousness and I thought, "Lets write a song and put all the sponsors in it and that will take care of this issue once and for all".

"A Friendship's Love" was a prayer I wrote for Ray and Brittley Jarrell's wedding.

We wanted the album to feel like our live show and for people to feel like they can take the party home with them. We always end our shows with "Me and Julio" and "Closing Time" so we thought it was a great way to end our album as well.
